A few quarters back, the topic of High Dynamic Range photography came up in class. Why? The obstacle we all face as photographers are situations where there is high dynamic range. What's the solution? To take separate photographs, each exposing for a different range (highlights, midtones, or shadows), and then combine them in photoshop. Recently, I came across this video, which explains and illustrates the technique.
